Bye bye my dear students

This is the moment of the year to say goodbye. I think that we have learnt a lot from each other and that we have had great times in the classes. I will miss you all next year and I am really nice to have met you.

Remember that from now on we are friends and you can contact me whenever you want.
You can leave here a message to say your opinion on me and on my teaching.

Thanks a lot dear students. I love you all

Reported (Indirect) Speech

We have been working with reported speech in the last weeks, so now I want you to change into reported(indirect speech) the following conversation.

Julie: "I am really tired"
Mum Rose: "Why are you so tired?"
Julie: "I can't tell it to you now"
Mum Rose: "Can you repeat that?"
Julie: "I prefer to stop this conversation"
Mum Rose: "What do you mean?"
"Have you done something wrong?"
Julie: "I don't know"
Mum Rose: "OK, you must go to do your homework now"
Julie: "I will do them in less than a hour"

Remember the introductory forms X said that ..., X asked if ... , X asked wh- ... and to change the verbal tenses

Habitual actions

Hi my students!

Today I want you to write a list of ten of your habitual actions. Thus, we can know each other better and have some fun. Remember to use simple structures and to use frequency adverbs such as ALWAYS, NEVER, SOMETIMES, OFTEN, USUALLY, etc.

I write an example about my habitual actions to help you:

1. I drive to Los Molares every day
2. I usually watch TV at night
3. I rarely go to the cinema
4. I often play football
5. My students are always nice to me!

Now it's your turn to write!

Sentence connectors

In Unit 8, we have been working with sentence connectors as AS SOON AS, AS A RESULT, FIRST, FINALLY, AFTER THAT or AS A RESULT. This is your chance to create your own text with these connectors.

As usual, I will give you a couple of examples. One is the description of a process and the other one is an invented story.

PROCESS: Going to Molares
First, I go to the garage to take my car. As soon as I am in my car I turn on the radio to listen to music. After that, I leave Seville and start my way to Los Molares. Finally, and after driving for more than half an hour I arrive at Los Molares and I go to my beloved I.E.S Francisco Rivero. As a result, I am ready to go to my English and Ethics lessons.

STORY: The golden hat
Mary and Tom were in the street and they wanted to buy a costume. First, they went to a shop but it was closed. After that, they decided to buy some sweets because they were hungry. Finally, they went to an old bookshop. It was full of beautiful presents. But there was a special one: a golden hat. As soon as they saw it, they wanted to buy it. Unfortunately, they couldn't because they had no money. As a result, they came back home and told their parents about the golden hat.

Now, I will give you a little present for those who read my blog. I leave here one of my favourite songs so you can listen to it at home. Enjoy it!

Predictions and plans

Remember that we have got an exam this week. So, in order to practice what you have learnt you should write three predictions and three plans. Make sure your comments (commentaries) are personal and do not copy anybody else's ideas. I write an example of some of my ideas.

Predictions: My students will have a great mark in English
I will marry a lovely girl in the future
There will be less crime next year

Plans: I am going to go to a foreign country in the summer
We are going to have dinner at the end of the academic year
Some of my students are going to go to Tenerife soon

That's all for this week. Keep on writing and good luck for the exam!

Welcome to our blog

Dear students of Los Molares,

I'm happy to communicate that I have created a blog for my students. I hope you want to participate and learn a lot.

To begin with, I want you all to write a bit about your personal details: name, age, place of birth and some hobbies. Here are mine so we can know each other better.

My name is Pablo, I am twenty-five (my birthday was yesterday!). I come from Cadiz but I live in Seville, I teach English in a secondary school in Los Molares. My hobbies are sport, music and friends.
